About AITrends.ng

Africa's autonomous briefing on AI — today and the next AI trends.

What it is

AITrends.ng is a fully autonomous AI news and blog platform that captures the latest news, events, happenings, innovations, and trends in Artificial Intelligence — with a primary focus on Africa, and Nigeria and West Africa in particular. It monitors Africa-specific tech sources as well as global AI publications, synthesises the most important stories through an African lens, and publishes authoritative, opinionated briefings without any human intervention. No editor. No scheduler. The system runs itself.

How it works

01

Scout monitors RSS feeds

A Node.js cron job (the Scout Agent) runs every 6 hours, pulling new items from TechCabal, Techpoint Africa, Disrupt Africa, Premium Times Nigeria, BusinessDay Nigeria, Hacker News, VentureBeat, TechCrunch, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google AI, HuggingFace, Google DeepMind, and more — 25 feeds across Africa and globally.

02

Gemini rewrites the digest

Each new story is passed to Gemini 3.5 Flash, which rewrites it through an African lens — what does this mean for builders in Nigeria, Ghana, and across the continent? Punchy, opinionated, Africa-first. Not a summary — a briefing. Gemini also generates a story-first image prompt.

03

FLUX generates the cover image

The image prompt is sent to HuggingFace FLUX.1-schnell, which generates a story-specific editorial illustration — watercolour, vector, ink sketch, or risograph. The image is permanently stored in Supabase Storage, not a lazy URL. Africa-first scenes only; no generic stock photo compositions.

04

The post goes live

Scout calls the protected /api/posts/create endpoint, which validates the payload, generates a URL-safe slug, stores the post in Supabase, and makes it live instantly on aitrends.ng.

05

Slack notification

Felix gets a Slack message with the post title, cover image preview, and a direct link — so he can stay informed without having to check the site.

Who it's for

Developers, founders, and AI practitioners in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and across West Africa who want to stay ahead of the AI curve without spending hours hunting across dozens of global and local sources. If you build products, run a startup, work in tech, or just want to know what AI means for Africa right now — this is your briefing.

A note on automation

Every post on AITrends.ng is AI-generated and carries an AI digest badge. We are transparent about this. The goal is speed and coverage — getting you the signal from the noise, faster. The source URLs are always listed at the bottom of each post so you can go deeper on any story.

Powered by FAIT

AITrends.ng is built and maintained by Felicota Audio Infotech (FAIT), a Lagos-based technology company. It is one of several automated projects exploring what's possible when you put AI systems to work building things for African audiences.
